Stuff Portrait Friday: Tasty
I came home today freshly pedicured, manicured, and waxed, ready to relax. Then I remembered SPF. So much for relaxing…but at least I had perfectly arched brows and pretty toes and fingers while I did this week’s assignment!
For this week’s spicy edition, Kristine asked to see:
1. Your Spices
2. Salt and Pepper
3. Add a little spice to your picture.
Well, my spices are lonely. And dusty. The ones Matte uses on his Tombstone pizzas are usually the only ones that see any action. So I converted this shot to black and white to convey the drab taste of these spices and herbs that are far beyond their “Best by xxx date.” Tarragon is my favorite, but if I’m going to make something with it, I use the fresh stuff. Much tastier!
My salt and pepper is fancy, isn’t it? Yes, each evening while I dine, I grind each peppercorn by hand, then sprinkle it over my food. Or not. But this composition is so much more exciting than my boring salt & pepper shakers that don’t even show the salt or the pepper inside the ceramic Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio.
I created this work of art awhile back. Krissy had sent me this photo of herself, taken on an airplane. She looks utterly breathtaking here, doesn’t she? So, I created one of those motivational posters (make your own here) to describe what I felt upon seeing the photo for the first time. In this shot she looks like Jay London from Season 2 of Last Comic Standing.
Happy SPF! And happy just-plain Friday!
Did you play?
I like the S&P shot, I’d like a set of those (don’t know if I would use them…but they look nice).
Had to laugh at the beauty shot; that is priceless.
I played.
i like the s/p photo… very nice!
the spiced up photo is hilarious 🙂
i played, too.
lol
happy spf

I love the poster. Too funny.
And, the fancy salt and pepper. Very chic.
I played.
HA, the spiced up pic is hilarious. 😀
happy SPF – i played, too.
Nice SPF! The salt and pepper is cool, but I would have liked to see Jimminy.
I played!
great pictures cath!….I need to play with the poster thing, yours turned out hysterical!
Can I just chime in and make it clear that I don’t use tarragon or dill weed on my pizza. Me likey the oregano, crushed red pepper, and minced garlic. No jokes about garlic mincing about either. It’s serious stuff that garlic. It’ll come to your house and slap you silly if you joke about it mincing around. I mean come on. You wouldn’t like it if someone said you were a minced poofta wouldja? Have some heart people. Okay, I’ve gotten way off topic. What was I saying? oh yeah….
SAN DIMAS HIGHSCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!!!
Nice SPF Cath! I love the Beauty Poster!
Those are some fancy shakers.
That last poster is too funny.
I played.
LOL about the salt & pepper… ours are boring too, so we went a different direction… love the “beauty” one 🙂 We played.
That “Beauty” Poster is just too much! Hilarious!
I love the composition of the salt and pepper shot. Nicely done!
Happy SPF and I played too.
Your spiced up photo is hilarious! Of course, don’t we all do our S&P that way? LOL! Great SPF!
I played!
That salt and pepper is fancy! Yeah mine would never actually look like that either!
I played!
You’re back playing so I just HADTA come and check it out! The poster one – way kool! Thanks for sharing. O and the SP so artistic! LOL I’d like to see you grind each peppercorn individually. Pool Boy uses coarse salt for cooking sometimes. I haven’t graduated to that yet.
OMG. that shot is hysterical!! i love what you did. I wanted to make one of those, but i’m lame and can never think of one. 😉
Love the middle shot of the salt and pepper. And I’ve never heard of Schilling but they obviously use the same packaging as McCormick. What gives?
Dude…you’re slacking on the blog…. What? Are you busy working or something?
