Sat, 09 Sep 2006 16:58:33 +0000http://www.catheroo.com/2006/09/07/jag-in-the-box/#comment-1193you all seem to have an unfortunate experience of british accents. though some are admittedly very educated and precise, some sound absolutely atrocious. i should know (i’m british after all) try and hear someone with a birmingham accent, or a newcastle or lancashire accent. then you’d think otherwise. sorry. it just annoys me when people think all britons speak like Hugh Grant, Prince Charles, Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins or the people on the bbc. Also, very few people use the phrase ‘jolly good’.

And they tend to add the word “absolutely” as well, as on Ground Force(BBC) when shown their new garden space. Everything is “absolutely brilliant.” But that accent gets me every time. No wonder I love all things British so much.
